A N I M P O R T A N T A N N O U N C E M E N T
‘To all patrons, listeners and followers,
As of late I have been pursuing other endeavours and interests (both of the personal and entrepreneurial sort). As a matter of fact, I will be dividing my time evenly across all chosen pursuits (including this music project). If it looks as if things are quiet on the CHANGELINGS front, it is most likely that I’m busy working on these other pursuits.
This now leads me to my main announcement.
Do I still intend to compose and release music?
Yes. If its in the nature of a painter to paint, experiment and develop their craft…then I suppose this composer is willing to do the same.
Am I still interested in live music performance?
Not so much these days. Especially now that I have other endeavours that I’m pursuing. I could try to explain in more detail as to why I don’t play live gigs anymore, but I feel like not many will be able to understand my position. I reckon my ‘Past Era’ post just about sums up my reasons.
So now that the project won’t be playing anymore live shows in the foreseeable future, I have decided that after the full completion of Album III, my project will mainly be putting out instrumental compositions. I’m sure that this will define much of CHANGELINGS’ present era.
Album III will indeed mark my last album vocal performance - possibly for a very, very long time. Because I don’t really spend these days singing and penning down full songs, I’m 110% confident in this creative decision. And because I’ve always regarded CHANGELINGS as being solely a music project rather than a career, I’m choosing to prioritise other pursuits as well.
Will I stop releasing songs altogether? I wouldn’t say never…for it wouldn’t surprise me if one final song-based album gets released before I decide to retire CHANGELINGS (yes this project will inevitably come to end way down the line).
Now having said all this, my interest in musical composition has definitely not waned one bit. It is very much still alive and kicking.
What can one expect moving forward after the full release of Album III? Well as stated in one of my other journal entries, the music itself will continue to warp and evolve, as it always has since 2013. You could say that this musician has a solid idea of where the music will be heading in the future, but I’d rather let these things unfold naturally as opposed to hyping anything up.
If you’ve read this far, then I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this.
I would like to end this announcement by saying that I am very much looking forward to hearing how the music will evolve over the next several years’
